QUACK TRACKS

Last Week

The Mallards went 1-1-1 last week. After earning a point for a 4-3 overtime loss to Missouri last Wednesday, the Mallards halted a four-game winless streak (0-2-2) with a 4-2 win over Wichita last Friday. The Mallards closed the weekend with a 5-2 loss on the road against the Indy Fuel Saturday.

Dip

The Mallards have won just one of their last six games (1-3-2).

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation (3-0-1) in their last four home games.

Rough Road

The Mallards have gone winless (0-3-2) in five road games since winning their season opener in Allen October 16.

Division

Last Saturday's loss to the Fuel was the Mallards' eleventh game overall but their first against a division foe this season. The Mallards face two more division opponents- Cincinnati and Fort Wayne- this week.

First Blood

The Mallards have gone 4-0-1 when scoring first and 0-4-2 when allowing the first goal.

High Five

The Mallards in last Saturday's 5-2 loss at Indy matched a season high for goals allowed.

Sudden Death

Last Wednesday's defeat was the Mallards' first overtime decision this season. The Mallards have also dropped their first two shootouts to leave them 0-3 in games settled after regulation.

Rookie of the Month

Mallards goaltender Steve Michalek last week was named ECHL Goaltender of the Month for October. Michalek went 2-1-2 with a 1.95 goals against average and .933 save percentage in five games last month.

Arch Madness

Olivier Archambault has scored the Mallards' first goal in each of the last three games. He has scored four times and added two assists in his last five games to take over the team lead in points (10) and move into a tie for the Mallard lead in goals (4) and assists (6).

Gelly Donut

Guillaume Gelinas's team season best five-game point-scoring streak (1-4-5) ended last Saturday against the Fuel. Gelinas is tied for fourth among ECHL defensemen in points (8).

Iron Mike

Mike Monfredo is tied for fourth among ECHL defensemen in assists (6) and tied for ninth among blueliners in points (7). Monfredo, whose first goal of the season was the third period game winner last Friday against Wichita, has now played 215 consecutive games since turning pro with the Mallards in 2012.

Special Teams

The Mallards failed to convert their only power play last Saturday after scoring at least once on the man advantage in each of their prior seven games. The Mallards rank sixth in the ECHL on the power play (23.8 percent). The Mallards were 5-for-5 on the penalty kill last weekend and have survived their opponents' last six power plays overall. They are fifteenth in the league in penalty killing (84.1 percent).

Head to Head

Wednesday night's game is not only the first of two tilts between the Mallards and Aces this season but also the first ever meeting between the two clubs...Friday night's game is the first of 11 this season between the Mallards and Cyclones and the first of five between the two clubs at U.S. Bank Arena. The Mallards and Cincinnati last season met for the first time ever. The Cyclones swept the two-game season series. Both of those Cincinnati victories came at the iWireless Center...The Mallards last season won their lone meeting with the Komets 7-5 on December 29, 2014, in Fort Wayne. All-time, the Mallards have gone 45-47-11 against Fort Wayne. The ECHL is the fourth different league in which the two teams have clashed. They previously competed against each other in the United, International and Central Leagues.

Ins and Outs

Zach Pochiro was reassigned to the Mallards from the AHL's Chicago Wolves by the NHL's St. Louis Blues today after being reassigned from the Mallards to Chicago by St. Louis last Thursday...Tanner Eberle was assigned to the Mallards today by the AHL's Iowa Wild after being recalled by the Wild last Friday and playing twice for Iowa over the weekend.

Military Appreciation Night

All current and former military personnel and their families can purchase tickets to Wednesday night's game just $5. The Mallards will wear special edition VFW jerseys during Wednesday night's game. After Wednesday evening, the Flock will continue to don its VFW sweaters during warm-ups prior to home games until auctioning off those jerseys to benefit VFW Post 1303 in Rock Island at the March 25 game against the Evansville IceMen.

Teddy Bear Toss presented by R.I.A. Federal Credit Union

Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal and throw it on to the ice after the Mallards' first goal Sunday. Teddy bears will be donated to area children in need just in time for the holidays.

Great Clips

Fans attending Sunday's game will have the chance to shed some hair for a good cause. Great Clips will be on hand to provide haircuts for charity on the iWireless Center concourse.

Skate with the Mallards presented by B100

Fans can join the Mallards on the ice after all Sunday home games this season.

ON THE AIR

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230- including Friday night's game in Cincinnati and Sunday's game against Fort Wayne- due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net.

The Mallards' official mobile app is now available free for both Apple and Android. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
