Thunder Unveil 2016 Season Schedule

With 23 games remaining in the 2015 Trenton Thunder season, the first glimpse of the 2016 schedule was released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Thunder will begin the 2016 campaign at ARM & HAMMER Park on Thursday April 7 against the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers). The team will embark on their first road trip of the season after the seven-game homestand when they travel to New Hampshire (Toronto Blue Jays) and Portland beginning on Thursday April 14.

Your Thunder will face their top rivals 24 times at home in 2016. The Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Reading Fightin Phils, will make three trips to ARM & HAMMER Park for four game series'. The first series of the season against Reading will be May 12-15, followed by July 14-17 and September 2-5. Boston Red Sox fans can catch the Portland Sea Dogs at ARM & HAMMER Park for nine games next season, April 11-13, June 27-29 and July 18-20. The Binghamton Mets (NY Mets) will make their only trip to ARM & HAMMER Park for three games June 17-19.

The Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) will make their only visit to ARM & HAMMER Park August 2-4.

The Thunder will play 14 home games in April, 14 in May, 13 in June, 14 in July, 12 in August and four in September. The team plays 71 home games against all 11 Eastern League opponents. All affiliates between Eastern League teams and MLB Parent clubs will remain the same as 2015.

Mid-week day games will continue at ARM & HAMMER Park in 2016 with 10:30am "Education Day" games slated for Wednesday April 27, Wednesday May 18 and Thursday May 26. Special "Camp Day" games are scheduled for Wednesday July 20 and Wednesday August 3. The Thunder will also play a 2:00pm "Business Person's Special" game on Wednesday August 24 at ARM & HAMMER Park.

The schedule for fireworks dates and promotions for 2016 will be released at a later date.
