New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced that right-handed starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman, who was acquired by the Rockies in the Troy Tulowitzki exchange with the Blue Jays, has been assigned to New Britain. Hoffman, 22, was drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft from East Carolina University. He entered the 2015 season as the Blue Jays #3 overall prospect (Baseball America) and has a fastball that will touch 98 MPH along with the best changeup in Toronto's system.
