MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats have unveiled the team's 2016 schedule. After beginning the 2016 season on the road, the team will play the first of 71 home games on Thursday, April 14 against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees). The schedule features a preliminary listing of 33 Atlas Fireworks shows, 11 games with the Future Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs, and home engagements on the three major holidays of the summer - Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

The first of three meetings with the Sea Dogs begins on May 9 before Portland returns for a Fourth of July Fireworks extravaganza. The Future Red Sox are also back to wrap up the season as the teams meet for Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5.

This year's Atlas fireworks docket begins with a show following the third game of the season on April 16, and then back-to-back shows on April 29-30 when the Binghamton Mets are in town. Five additional shows are planned in May before they become a regular event on most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in the summer months. The highlight of the shows will once again be the celebration of America's birthday on the 4th of July, which sparks a streak of six straight nights with post-game fireworks.

Game times will remain similar to years past with most night games beginning at 6:35 p.m. in April and May. A switch to 7:05 occurs for the summer months starting with Memorial Day weekend. All Saturday games will be played in the evening while the majority of Sunday games are afternoon affairs beginning at 1:35 p.m.

The Fisher Cats continue their current homestand on Thursday night with the first of four-games with the Reading Fightin Phils. Thursday's game is Firefighter Appreciation Night and the team will wear specialty firefighter jerseys, which will be auctioned off to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
