Wichita Thunder News Release
Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce a partnership with Ashley Furniture Home Store and Wichita Furniture Inc, called "A Hope to Dream," which will take place on Tuesday, November 15th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena.
A Hope to Dream is a program that helps provide underprivileged children, between the ages of 3-16 around the world a clean, unused mattress set to call their own. Thunder players will be in attendance to sign autographs. Food and beverages will be provided for the children receiving the beds and activities will take place afterwards.
"We're so honored to be able to provide deserving kids in our community with a new mattress and bedding set," commented Jay Storey, owner of Wichita Furniture Inc and Ashley Furniture Home Store. "Every kid deserves a good night sleep and a safe zone that they can call their own. It helps to give them the rest they need to perform better in school and function in society."
A Hope to Dream has been very successful in helping underprivileged youth reach their full potential. Other sports franchises that have partnered with Ashley Furniture are the Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys.
"A good night's rest is also essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We're also honored that we are able to partner with the Wichita Thunder and they, along with us, are giving some of our Wichita kids 'A Hope To Dream!' This is the first of many events we are planning. Our hope is to provide hundreds of new beds to deserving kids all throughout our community."
Any media requests for the event please contact the Wichita Thunder office.
The Thunder have the week off and will host the Alaska Aces for three-straight starting on Friday, November 18th at 7:05 p.m.
