Mavericks Receive Tansey and Selman

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Justin Selman to the team from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the Wolves have loaned defenseman Kevin Tansey to the Mavericks.

Selman, a rookie, began the season with the Mavericks on assignment by St. Louis and posted an assist in four games. The 6-foot-0, 200-pound forward was reassigned to Chicago on October 24 and posted one goal in six games for the Wolves. Prior to turning pro this season Selman scored 67 points (29g, 38a) over 113 games for the Michigan Wolverines.

Tansey, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound rookie out of Clarkson, originally signed with the Mavericks over the summer. He played for the Blues' entry in the annual Traverse City Prospects Tournament and earned a spot in Blues training camp. From there Tansey went to camp with the Wolves and earned an AHL contract. He has 19 penalty minutes in 12 games for Chicago this season. Prior to turning pro, Tansey registered 34 points (12g, 22a) over 151 games for Clarkson.

Both Tansey and Selman are expected to be available for the Mavericks' inaugural Education Day Game against the Allen Americans tomorrow morning. The game features a 10:35 a.m. start time and educational elements woven into the entire game experience.
