November 14, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release
RAPID CITY, SD- The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Rush, has re-assigned rookie forward Hunter Fejes to the Rush. In an additional transaction, the Rush have acquired forward Triston Grant in a trade that has sent forward Nathan Moon to the Wichita Thunder.
Fejes did not make an appearance with the Roadrunners during his first AHL call up of the season. The Anchorage, Alaska native played in 11 Rush contests and notched 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points, good enough for a share of the 9th-best point total among ECHL rookies at the time of his recall.
Grant, 32, comes to the Rush in a trade that sent Nathan Moon to the Wichita Thunder. The 6'1", 212-pound forward is in the midst of his first ECHL season, where in 4 games with the Thunder he racked up 17 PIM. Before heading to Wichita, the Neepawa, Manitoba native played his entire career in the AHL and above, amassing 641 AHL games with the Philadelphia Phantoms, Milwaukee Admirals, Rochester Americans, Oklahoma City Barons, Grand Rapids Griffins, where he won the 2013 Calder Cup Championship, and Binghamton Senators, registering totals of 73 goals, 80 assists, 153 points, and 1,709 PIM. Additionally, he carries 11 games in the National Hockey League with the Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators where he has 1 assist and 19 PIM to his credit. Prior to playing professionally, the 12th year professional played in 291 games across five seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and Lethbridge Hurricanes, and was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2004 NHL Draft (9th Rd-#286).
"Triston will be a great boost to our lineup, and we are excited to meet him in Tulsa this week," said Rush Head Coach, Mark DeSantis. "With his extensive AHL experience, Triston will add a tremendous amount of toughness and veteran leadership to our lineup."
The Rush travel to take on the Tulsa Oilers on Wednesday and Friday, and the Allen Americans on Saturday. Puck drop for Wednesday's contest is slated for 6:05 p.m. MST at the BOK Center. Catch all the action with Mark Binetti on the "Official Station of Rush Nation", 100.3 the FOX, or head to our two watch party locations in Buffalo Wild Wings and Native New Yorker.
