THUNDER ENGAGE EIGHT IN LARGEST WIN IN FRANCHISE

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder posted a franchise-high eight goals in an 8-1 drubbing of the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday evening at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Adirondack was first to strike as they opened the scoring at the 14:32 mark of the first period with a goal from rookie Mikkel Aagaard. The Thunder forward gained control of the puck at center ice and showcased his speed as he split the Norfolk defense for a breakaway opportunity. Despite being tied up by an Admirals' defenseman, Aagaard managed to get a shot off, which went top shelf for the goal, his fifth of the season.
Just 33 seconds later, however, the Admirals responded to the Thunder goal with one of their own from forward Paul Rodrigues, his second of the season. After they won a battle on the half-boards, Jaedon Descheneau sent a pass to the slot, where Rodrigues was able to capitalize on a quick wrist shot to beat the blocker of Adirondack netminder Mason McDonald. Descheneau and Samuel Noreau collected the assists on the play, Descheneau's fourth of the season.
The Thunder regained the lead less than a minute into the second period as they converted just 50 seconds into the middle stanza. Winger Ty Loney found defenseman Alex Wall in space on the right wing. The 5-11 blueliner sent a perfectly weighted pass through traffic to a streaking Alex Fedoseyev, who converted for his second goal of the season. Wall and Loney collected the assists on the play, extending Wall's point streak to four games.
Adirondack found the back of the net twice more in less than three minutes at the end of the second period as they extended their lead to 4-1. Adirondack led a rush into the Norfolk zone and forward Brett Pollock spun around and passed to a trailing Ty Loney, who slotted a one-timer past Knapp for his 11th goal of the season. Pollock and Aagaard tallied assists on the play, Pollock's fifth of the season. Less than three minutes later, Pollock found the back of the net as he scored his third goal of the season. The Thunder worked the puck throughout the Norfolk zone and Peter MacArthur connected with Pollock on a cross-ice pass for a one-timed goal. MacArthur and Dennis Kravchenko collected assists on the goal, MacArthur's ninth of the season.
The Thunder opened the scoring in the third period just 3:56 in with a goal from Kravchenko, his third tally of the season. Forward Ty Loney hit the breaks as he entered the zone before he sent a wrap-around pass to Kravchenko, who slotted a wrist shot to the upper corner of the net for the goal. Loney collected the lone assist on the play, his third point of the night. Midway through the third period, the Thunder scored again as Pollock gained control of the puck along the boards, and fired a backhand pass through traffic to Aagaard, who scored his second goal of the evening. Pollock and James Henry tallied assists, Henry's sixth point in as many games.
The scoring continued into the game's final minutes as Phil Lane found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season. Kravchenko capitalized on a misplayed puck and connected with Lane in the slot, who converted for the seventh goal of the night. With just 27.6 seconds left in the game, Aagaard scored his third goal of the evening for the rookie's first career professional hat trick. Defenseman Keegan Kanzig and Ty Loney notched assisted on the play, Loney's fourth point of the evening.
The Thunder hit the road for two games in Brampton against the Beast on Thursday and Friday, but return home to close out the three-in-three set on Saturday evening with puck drop slated for 7:00 p.m at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
