LOVELAND, CO. - Eagles forward Jesse Mychan netted the game's first goal, sending thousands of teddy bears raining onto the ice, as the Eagles defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4-3 on Saturday, completing a three-game sweep of their division rivals. Colorado goaltender Nathan Liewuen stopped all three of Idaho's shooters in the shootout, while forward Matt Garbowsky lit the lamp to seal the win.

Mychan unleashed the festivities when he unfurled a wrister from the left circle, beating Idaho goalie Phillipe Desrosiers to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead just 61 seconds into the contest. Fans then unloaded an estimated 7,000 bears and stuffed animals onto the ice, with those toys now headed for local children's charities for the holiday season.

The Steelheads would level the score at 1-1 when forward Anthony Luciani fielded a rebound on the left wing boards and snapped the puck into the net at the 7:42 mark of the second period. Idaho would claim their first lead of the night later in the second period when forward Jefferson Dahl fired a wrist shot past Lieuwen on a 5-on-3 power play to give the Steelheads the 2-1 edge with 1:13 left in the middle frame.

Colorado would storm back in the third period, as defenseman Matt Register guided a shot from the slot into the back of the net just 1:41 into the final period to tie the game at 2-2. Fellow defenseman Jake Marto would reclaim the Eagles lead on the power play, blasting a slapshot past Desrosiers at the 6:00 mark of the third period to make it 3-2 Colorado.

The Eagles lead would be short-lived, as Luciani would knot the game at 3-3 off a deflection in the low-slot just 31 seconds after the Marto tally.

With Regulation unable to decide a winner, the two teams headed to sudden-death overtime, with Colorado outshooting the Steelheads 7-0, but unable to find the back of the net. In the subsequent shootout, Garbowsky beat Desrosiers top-shelf, while Lieuwen shut down all three of Idaho's attempts to give the Eagles the 4-3 victory. Colorado continues to sit alone in first place in the ECHL's Mountain Division and have now won four straight games, the team's longest winning streak of the season.

The Eagles begin a four-game road trip with a meeting against the defending ECHL Champion Allen Americans on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:05pm MT.

Season tickets for the 2016-17 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468). A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
