The Border Cats were able to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning off a triple and a single with two outs on the board.
Scoring would go stagnant for a couple innings but Thunder Bay would extend their lead to 4-0 over the Rox in the bottom of the fifth inning, this time on a double and a single.
The Rox would fight for a comeback in the top of the sixth inning as Adam Martin (Jr., Western Carolina University) got the bats going hitting a double to lead off. Conor Keniry (Jr., Wake Forest University) would then be up to bat with one out on the board to hit a single moving Martin to third.
