Bombers Lose Two Straight For First Time This Season

La Crosse, Wis. - Cam Gibson collected four singles in his first four at bats Wednesday night, but it was not enough as the Battle Creek Bombers (8-6) fell to the La Crosse Loggers (10-5) 6-3.

Todd Eaton (L, 1-1) gave up a two-out, two-run double in the eighth inning in a 3-3 game to Johnny Bekakis to give the Loggers a 5-3 lead. Loggers' reliever James Guillen (W, 2-0) received the win after a scoreless eighth inning. Craig Caufield (S, 2) then came on for a perfect ninth to record the save.

The got a run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to tie the game up at three. Derek Hasenbeck scored one of Battle Creek's runs, going 2-2 with two walks and two doubles. La Crosse got their first three runs in the third inning off starter Kyle Slack who walked two, hit two, and gave up two hits in the inning.

Newcomers Daniel Cucjen and Jordan Farris delivered their first base hits of the season. Cucjen's was an RBI-single in the fourth.

The Bombers attempt to split the two game series in La Crosse Thursday night with Mike Mancuso on the mound. First pitch is at 8:05 ET.
