Thunder Acquire Logan Nelson from Quad City

Wichita, KS (Nov. 12th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that they have acquired forward Logan Nelson from the Quad City Mallards in exchange for future considerations.

Nelson, 22, comes to Wichita after appearing in five games this season for the Mallards. A native of Rogers, Minnesota, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward has five points so far this year, including two goals against the Thunder on October 17th. The second-year

pro is a former fifth round draft pick (#133) of the Buffalo Sabres during the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Last year, he signed with the Rapid City Rush before being sent to Quad City before the season started. In 43 games, Nelson notched 16 goals and 28 points as a rookie.

Prior to turning pro, Nelson played for the Victoria Royals of the WHL, where he finished with 159 points (60g, 99a) in 179 career games over a three-year span. His best season came during the 2011-12 campaign, where he collected 62 points (23g, 39a) in 71 games.

Wichita resumes its six-game homestand on Friday night as the Missouri Mavericks come to town for a pair of games starting at 7:05 p.m.
