November 12, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards have traded forward Logan Nelson to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations, the Mallards announced today.
Nelson, 22, scored four goals and added one assist in seven games with the Mallards this season.
Nelson scored 16 goals and recorded 12 assists for 28 points in 43 games with the Mallards as a rookie last season. The 6' 1", 186-pound Rogers, Minnesota native was acquired in a trade with the Rapid City Rush shortly after the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
Nelson produced 60 goals and 68 assists for 128 points in 179 games over three junior seasons with the Western Hockey League's Victoria Royals. He spent the 2010-11 season with the United States Hockey League's Des Moines Buccaneers before heading north of the border. Nelson was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round of the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft with the one hundred thirty-third choice.
The Mallards return to action on the road against the Cincinnati Cyclones tomorrow night. The Mallards next play at home Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Komets. Just in time for the holidays, the Mallards will team with R.I.A. Federal Credit Union for a teddy bear toss Sunday. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal and throw it on to the ice after the Mallards' first goal. Teddy bears will be donated to area children in need. Courtesy of B100, fans can join the Mallards on the ice and skate with the team after each Sunday home game this season.
Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including Sunday's contest- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
