Harrisburg Senators News Release

In the first of four games this weekend, the Harrisburg Senators dropped a 6-3 decision to the Erie Seawolves Friday night before 5,853 fans at Metro Bank Park. The Senators (43-45) have lost two straight games for the first time since June 22-23.

Washington Nationals' prospect Nick Pivetta made his AA debut by pitching the first six innings for the Senators, allowing three runs on seven hits. He walked two and struck out two while throwing 45 of 81 pitches for strikes. He left with the game tied at 3-3, but Erie scored three runs on three hits off Senators' reliever Sam Runion in the top of the seventh inning. Friday was just the second time this season that Runion has allowed multiple runs in an appearance. Gilberto Mendez pitched two scoreless innings to keep the Senators within three. He allowed two hits and struck out one.

The Senators had 10 hits Friday night, but did not do much after Cutter Dykstra and Chris Bostick led the bottom of the first off with back-to-back home runs. Dykstra's homer was the first leadoff homer by a Senator this season and Bostick made it back-to-back dingers -- also a first this season. The Senators then added a run in the third when Isaac Ballou doubled and scored on a double play later in the inning to make it a 3-2 Harrisburg lead. However, the Senators finished 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

Bostick finished the night 3-for-4 with a double and a single while Dykstra finished 2-for-5. Ballou and Pedro Severino also added two hits each in the loss.

The Senators and Seawolves will continue their series tomorrow night with a 6:00 p.m. start at Metro Bank Park. The pregame show will begin at 5:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
