LAST GAME: The B-Mets won their second rubber match of the season, beating New Britain, 2-1, Thursday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium to earn their first series win since June 18th. Michael Fulmer allowed an unearned run in seven innings for his second consecutive win and his fourth this season. Fulmer has allowed two total earned runs over his last six starts combined. Beck Wheeler pitched another scoreless inning while Jon Velasquez notched his 10th save. Offensively, Brock Peterson got the B-Mets on the board with his fifth home run of the season. Jared King later delivered the game-winning hit with a two-out RBI double in the seventh. Gavin Cecchini extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP John Gant is making his ninth start of the season with the B-Mets and the second since rejoining from St. Lucie (High-A). Gant will be facing Portland for the third time this season, having faced them in his last start. Gant has lost both matchups, allowing four earned runs in 11 innings combined. He has surrendered four unearned runs in the two starts, while the B-Mets have scored two total runs of support in the two games. It will be his first career outing at Hadlock Field.

PORTLAND STARTER: RHP Justin Haley is making his 17th start and third against the B-Mets this season. Haley faced the B-Mets at NYSEG Stadium in his last outing, tossing six shutout frames for the win. Haley is 1-1 against

Binghamton, allowing two runs in 11 total innings. He has not allowed a run in three of his last four starts. This will be the first time he is facing the B-Mets at Hadlock Field, where Haley is 0-6 with a 7.14 ERA in seven starts this season.

REMATCH: These two starting pitchers squared off five days ago in Portland's 6-1 win at NYSEG Stadium Sunday night. Haley worked six shutout frames, while Gant allowed just one earned run in his six innings. Binghamton committed two errors behind Gant, leading to three earned runs, including two in the top of the first. No player had multiple-hits in the game and Binghamton went 0-for-10 with men in scoring position.

HADLOCK LOCKDOWN: Binghamton has won eight consecutive games at Hadlock Field, dating back last postseason. The B-Mets have outscored Portland 61-23 in the eight games, holding the Sea Dogs to one run in four of six this season. Portland won six of 10 at NYSEG Stadium, having their last two series wins come there.

RISP: The B-Mets are batting .206 with men in scoring position over their last eight games, going 4-4. Binghamton went 1-for-7 in their win Thursday.

STARTING OFF RIGHT: Gavin Cecchini extended his hitting streak to 10 games Thursday. He's batting .356 (16-for-45) during the streak with four multiple-hit games. It's Cecchini's longest hitting streak of the season.

AT STAKE: Binghamton has not won back-to-back games since June 22-23rd. The B-Mets have not beaten the same opponent on back-to-back days since sweeping the SeaDogs at Hadlock Field, June 16-18. A win Friday would win the season series for the B-Mets.
