The American Hockey League announced today the rosters for the 2007 Rbk Hockey/AHL All-Star Classic. Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' defenseman Richie Regehr has been chosen to play for the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star Team while goaltender Curtis McElhinney and center Dustin Boyd have been chosen to play for the Canadian AHL All-Star squad. The two day event will be held at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, the home of the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

The weekend begins with the 2007 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 28th at 6:00 p.m. Central Time. Then on Monday, January 29th, the two teams square off in the 2007 AHL All-Star Game at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.

Regehr will be making his second appearance in the AHL's mid-season classic. Last year, he had a goal and an assist in the game. Regehr is currently on recall to the Calgary Flames. In six games with the Flames, he has a goal and an assist and no penalty minutes. The native of Bandung, Indonesia has been with Calgary since late December, and yet he is still the Knights' leading defenseman scorer with five goals and nine assists for 14 points and 37 penalty minutes. He also has a team-best +16 plus/minus rating. Regehr is in his third professional season. He was signed by Calgary as a free agent in 2004 after five years of junior hockey with Kelowna and Portland.

McElhinney will be making his first appearance in the AHL All-Star Weekend. So far this season, he has earned a career-high 12 wins in 23 appearances. His 2.32 goals-against average ranks third best in the league. He also has three shutouts which rank third overall. Born in London, Ontario, McElhinney is in his second pro season after a four-year college career at Colorado College. He was the Flames' sixth round draft pick, 176th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Boyd also will be making his first All-Star Game appearance. The rookie is currently on recall to Calgary where he has a goal and two assists in six games for the Flames. The goal, his first in the NHL, was the game winner in a 4-2 Flames' win over Dallas last Saturday. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba is the Knights' leading scorer with 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 30 games. He is tied for seventh among all AHL rookies in points. He was the Flames' third pick, 98th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft after a four year junior career with Moose Jaw.
