Columbus Blue Jackets Recall Center Geoff Platt

Syracuse, NY (January 9, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Geoff Platt.

Platt, 21, has collected two penalty minutes in three games with the Blue Jackets this season and has totaled 5 assists and 18 penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with Columbus. He currently leads Syracuse in goals and power play goals (eight), while ranking second in assists and points having tallied 16 goals, 13 assists and 41 penalty minutes in 33 games. In 2005-06, he ranked third on the Crunch in scoring with 30-35-65 and 58 penalty minutes in 68 games as a rookie.

The Crunch travel to Rochester on Friday, January 12 for a 7:35 p.m. match-up. Syracuse returns to the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, January 13 to host Rochester.
