Chicago Wolves News Release
The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled defenseman ARTURS KULDA from the Chicago Wolves. In addition, Atlanta has reassigned goaltender DREW MacINTYRE to Chicago.
KULDA has appeared in 45 outings with the Wolves this season, notching seven assists, nine points and 52 penalty minutes. The 22-year-old blueliner made his National Hockey League debut in four games with Atlanta last season, recording two assists. He also skated in 66 outings with the Wolves during his second pro campaign last year, posting a career-high 19 assists and 25 points.
The Riga, Latvia, native also established a franchise record and ranked first in the American Hockey League with a +47 plus/minus rating - the highest in the AHL since 1992-93 and the second time a Chicago player has led the league in that category - after posting a plus or even rating in 56 of his 66 outings. Overall, he has tallied 50 points (9G, 41A) in 173 career AHL outings with the Wolves.
MacINTYRE was recalled on Jan. 27 and backed up two games for the Thrashers. He paces Wolves netminders with a 2.88 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in 15 contests overall this season (8-5-1).
