Timo Pielmeier Recalled by Anaheim

Syracuse, NY (February 4, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender Timo Pielmeier.

Pielmeier, 21, has appeared in 27 games for the Crunch this season, going 10-14-1 with a 3.33 goals against average and .901 save percentage. After making his AHL debut on October 8 at Lake Erie, Pielmeier went on to win three straight games from October 16 - 23 and finished the month of October with a 4-2-0 record, 2.18 goals against average and .937 save percentage. In addition, Pielmeier had an impressive 45-save performance in a 4-2 win at Hershey on December 31.

A native of Deggendorf, Germany, Pielmeier spent last season with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors, where he went 27-22-5 with a 3.29 goals against average and .883 save percentage and participated in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game. He was acquired by Anaheim along with Nick Bonino from San Jose in exchange for Kent Huskins and Travis Moen on March 4, 2009.

The Crunch travel to Adirondack on Friday, February 4 before returning home to face Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.
