Orlando Solar Bears News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears (5-9-3-1) posted 36 shots on the South Carolina Stingrays (14-2-0-0) but could not get one past goaltender Logan Thompson as Orlando fell by a 2-0 score on Saturday night at the Jewett Orthopaedic Rink at Amway Center.

Windsor made 12 saves for the Solar Bears in the opening frame - notably keeping the Stingrays at bay while the visitors held a two-man advantage with about five minutes to go in the period.

Windsor continued to turn pucks away in the second as he dueled with counterpart Logan Thompson at the opposite end of the ice, but the Stingrays eventually solved Orlando's goaltender with just seconds remaining in the middle frame. Matt Nuttle slipped the puck through Windsor's pads at 19:42 on a late rush up the ice by South Carolina to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The Solar Bears had several chances with the power play in the third period, but were unable to solve Thompson, and Tommy Hughes sealed the game with an empty-net tally with less than one second on the clock.

Windsor took the loss with 35 saves on 36 shots against; Thompson earned the win for South Carolina by making all 36 stops.

1) Logan Thompson - SC

2) Clint Windsor - ORL

3) Matt Nuttle - SC
