BATAVIA, NY - Nick Thompson started a State College Spikes rally with an eighth-innin double, then completed it with a double in the ninth to give the Spikes a comeback win over the Batavia Muckdogs, 5-3, on Monday night at Dwyer Stadium.

Thompson's two-out double in the eighth, followed by Rowan Wick's pinch-hit RBI single, started the Spikes (8-3) back from a 3-1 deficit in the eighth. In the ninth inning, three straight base hits, the last by Chase Raffield, tied the game at 3-3.

After a sacrifice bunt by Jhohan Acevedo moved runners to second and third, Thompson launched another two-out double to center field to give State College their first lead of the game. The William & Mary product now has 10 RBI in his first 10 games as a professional.

Wick's RBI single gave him 12 RBI in the Spikes' first 11 games, good for third-best in the New York-Penn League.

One night after becoming the first Spike to hit three home runs in one game, Alex De Leon went 1-for-3 with a double and scored State College's first run. Ronnierd Garcia also contributed a double to the Spikes' cause.

The Spikes received a solid pitching effort from start to finish. Luis Perdomo made his second straight quality start, allowing three runs, two of them earned, on five hits and a walk over six innings of work. Perdomo also struck out a season-high seven batters.

Kyle Grana (2-0) earned the win in relief, hurling two scoreless innings. Grana gave up a hit and a walk while striking out four. Jacob Booden (1) recorded the final three outs in order in the bottom of the ninth to earn his first official save of the year.

Tyler Kane (0-1) took the loss for Batavia (7-4) after allowing four runs on six hits and a walk over two innings of relief.

Miles Williams hit a two-run homer to center field off of Perdomo in the fourth, giving Batavia a lead that would last until the ninth. Carlos Duran and Hiram Martinez each produced multiple hits for the Muckdogs.
