LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, announced Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino will join the team on a Major League rehab assignment Monday, June 23.

Victorino, who has been on the disabled list since May 24 with a strained right hamstring, took batting practice with the team Sunday and will return to join the line-up for Monday night's game against the Connecticut Tigers.

"We are thrilled to welcome a star of Shane's quality to Lowell," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "He was instrumental in the 2013 team's World Series title and just having him around the club for a day is a great experience for the players, our fans and organization in general."

The rehab appearance coincides with Red Sox World Series Champions Night, presented by Align Credit Union. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2013 World Series Champion banner and the 2004, 2007 and 2013 World Series Trophies will be on hand for fans to take photos with.

Tickets for the game remain available at www.LowellSpinners.com or by phone at (978) 459-1702. Gates for the 7:05 start open at 6pm.
