Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Recap of Last Week
The Road Warriors played two home games last weekend against South Division rivals, the Florida Everblades and South Carolina Stingrays. Friday's matchup against Florida began smoothly for Greenville. Through two periods the Road Warriors were in the driver's seat with a 3-1 lead. Jason Wilson scored his first goal of the year to bring the game to a 4-1 score four minutes into the third period. Florida began a five-goal third period, which was the most goals scored against the Road Warriors in any period this year. Florida's final goal was scored on an empty netter to secure the 6-4 victory for the Everblades.
Saturday turned out much better for the Road Warriors as they welcomed in the Stingrays. Greenville brought a 2-0 lead into the third period. 25 seconds into the third frame the Stingrays made it interesting with a shorthanded goal. Greenville was able to hold onto the lead this time and fend off the Stingrays final attacks with a pulled goalie. The 2-1 victory was Nathan Lieuwen's 11th win of the season.
