Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that goaltender Mark Owuya has been reassigned to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies by the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.
Owuya ("Oh-woo-ya"), 23, went 3-3-0 with the Wranglers after being loaned to the team in mid-December. In his first three starts, the 6-foot-2, 207-pound netminder went undefeated to end his time in Las Vegas with a 2.97 goals-against average and a 0.904 save percentage. The Stockholm native signed a two-year entry level contract with the Maple Leafs in 2011 after four seasons (2007-11) overseas in Sweden.
The Wranglers play three games on the road before returning on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7:05 p.m. to face the Colorado Eagles. For that game, the team will wear specialty 10th "FANniversary" jerseys featuring photos of 10-year season ticket holders, and celebrate the milestone throughout the game. The jerseys, presented by Diamondback Land Surveying, will be auctioned during the game on the Orleans Arena concourse and proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital of Nevada at UMC.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
