
The Express Makes RBI Austin Triple-A For a Day

Join us this Saturday, August 3 at 7 p.m. as we take the Dell Diamond show on the road for RBI Austin!
We're going to turn Downs Mabson Field into Dell Diamond for the Kid Pitch Championship game. Our Street Team and Party Patrol will pump up the crowd while Ballpark Rob will have fans compete in fun in-game promotions. Express' own PA announcer Derrick Grubbs will take over the mic and the music to entertain fans throughout the game.
Spike, everyone's favorite mascot, will be performing throughout the game as well.
Admission is free and gates open at 7 p.m. for this special game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. We hope to see you at Downs Mabson Field on Saturday as it becomes Dell Diamond for a night!

Join us at Dell Diamond on Saturday, August 10 as we celebrate like the most radical decade ever with 80's Night!
As you enter the gates for the game that night, enjoy an arcade full of your favorite 80's games including PacMan, Donkey Kong, Asteroids and more! They will be on the concourse so you can battle your friends for arcade dominance! Stop and take your picture at the 80's photo booth with the King of Pop himself!
The game will be filled with tubular 80's surprises from first pitch to the last out. Stick around after the game as The Spazmatics bring your favorite 80's hits to life on the centerfield stage for the final show in the St. David's Summer Concert Series, presented by Dell.
Make sure you put on your best 80's gear for this 6:05 p.m. game. We'll have costume contests and more so you totally won't want to miss out!

Rangers Open Tryouts: Tuesday, August 20
Think you have what it takes to get signed by the Texas Rangers? The Rangers, through the local support of its Triple-A affiliate Round Rock Express, will conduct an open tryout camp for prospective professional baseball players to be held Tuesday, August 20, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Non-drafted, non-contracted individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 are eligible to participate in the one-day tryout. Position players are to report at 8 a.m. and pitchers at noon. The public is invited to attend.
Members of the Rangers scouting department will be present at the tryout to evaluate participants based upon Major League standards. Overall skills tests such as 60-yard dash, agility, hitting ability and arm strength from shortstop, outfield, catcher and pitcher positions will be administered. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and should come dressed in baseball attire. Baseballs will be furnished.
All interested individuals are directed to pre-register online. There is a $10 fee to register which includes an official tryout t-shirt. American Legion players must provide a letter from their coach or post commander granting permission to attend the tryout camp. All entrants must sign an injury waiver to participate.

The Express Returns to Dell Diamond Next Thursday! The Express is currently in the middle of a West Coast road trip, playing the Fresno Grizzlies and the Sacramento River Cats for four games each. They'll return to the friendly confines of Dell Diamond on Thursday, August 8 for a four-game set against the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A, Anaheim Angels) followed by a four-game set against the Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A, Seattle Mariners).
