RHP Carlos Pimentel Transferred to Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Thursday that RHP Ryan Rodebaugh has been placed on the 7-day DL and, in a corresponding move, RHP Carlos Pimentel has been transferred to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rodebaugh, 24, has split the season between Double-A Frisco and the Express, pitching in a combined 36 games. The right-hander has made 16 appearances out of the Express bullpen, posting a 4.71 ERA (21.0ip/11er) and 19 strikeouts. He has not allowed a hit over his last four outings (4.2ip) and has struck out five through that span. He last pitched on July 30, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings against the Fresno Grizzlies.

Pimentel, 23, joins the Express roster from Double-A Frisco, where he has spent each of the last three seasons. The right-hander has played all of 2013 with the RoughRiders, leading the team with 122 strikeouts over his 22 appearances (21 starts). He has gone 8-7 with a 4.09 ERA (116.2ip/53er) as a member of Frisco this season and will me making his first stint above the Double-A level.

After these moves, the current Express roster sits at 25 active players with three on the disabled list.

The Express and Grizzlies play game three of a four-game set tonight at 9:05 p.m. Southpaw Ryan Feierabend (5-3, 3.86 ERA) will get the ball for the Express while Fresno sends right-hander Justin Fitzgerald (1-3, 5.94 ERA) to the mound.
