Teddy Bear Toss Returns to Fresno
December 5, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
FRESNO, Calif. âThe weekend weather forecast may call for cold and fog outside, but inside Selland Arena on Saturday night it's going to be raining teddy bears! The Falcons welcome the Long Beach Ice Dogs to Fresno for the first time this season as part of a busy night that includes the giveaway of 5,000 Team Photos and the Hedrick's Hallowell Chevrolet Truck Shootout. The Falcons players will be dressed for the occasion in limited edition Holiday jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Community Medical Center.
The Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by Gottschalks and Community Medical Centers is back, and the Falcons are challenging their fans to shatter last year's record collection of over 2,300 bears! Fans are asked to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and toss it down onto the ice immediately after the Falcons score their first goal. All bears that are collected will be donated to the children at University Medical Center in Fresno.
If you are still looking for a unique gift for a friend or loved one, the Falcons have what you need! The winter-themed Holiday jerseys that the players will be wearing during the game will be auctioned off immediately following the conclusion of the game at the El Torito Restaurant on Tulare and R Streets. The Voice of the Valley, Flint Epps, will be on hand to conduct the auction, which will benefit the construction of the new trauma and critical care building that will serve as the centerpiece of the Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno.
Do you prefer to see your Falcons in their traditional home white jerseys? Then make sure to get there early on Saturday to pick up your 2002-03 Falcons Team Photo presented by Val Print and Baja Fresh! The first 5,000 fans in attendance will be able to pick up their team photo at the game, and the players will be available to autograph the photos at El Torito after the game.
Tickets are still available for Saturday's 7:30 p.m. game at the Selland Arena box office, through any Ticketmaster outlet or on www.ticketmaster.com. Call the Falcons office for more information at 485-PUCK!
