Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team has announced that it has acquired defenseman Kyle Kos, a second round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, from the Arkansas RiverBlades in a three-way deal.
The Bombers traded forward Andrew Williamson to the Southern Conference's Augusta Lynx for defensemen Phillippe Lakos and Gary Toor, then dealt them to Arkansas for defenseman Kos.
Kos, who played four seasons in the Western Hockey League (three with the Red Deer Rebels), had three goals, nine assists, and 83 penalty minutes in 23 games played with the RiverBlades earlier this season.
"Kos is a big, mobile, strong defenseman who will help us. Defense was a core strength of our team's success last season. We feel the additions of (Jason) Crain, (Chris) Wismer, and Kos will enhance our depth at that position," said Greg Ireland, Bombers' Head Coach/G.M. of Hockey Operations.
Kos has played 111 games at a higher level in his career, with stints in the now-defunct International Hockey League in 1999-2000 (Utah Grizzlies, Detroit Vipers) and 2000-2001 (Detroit Vipers), in addition to the American Hockey League (Springfield Falcons) in 2001-2002.
The Bombers, who annouced a special holiday offer regarding all new, half-season ticket packages on Wednesday, will continue their six-game road trip Friday, December 6 with the second of two straight games at Atlantic City against the Boardwalk Bullies (7:05 p.m./6:50 p.m. broadcast time on www.daytonbombers.com- "Listen Live Section"- in association with www.sportsjuice.com).
Fans who purchase a half-season ticket package (featuring 18 home games beginning January 2, 2003) will receive four additional tickets for the remaining December home games as well as a free gift. Gold "Half-Season" Tickets are just $234, while Silver "Half-Season" Tickets are only $162. These holiday half-season packages make great gifts for friends and family. For further information regarding these packages, call Mike Flanagan, Bombers Season Ticket and Group Sales Manager at (937) 775-4751 or by emailing the Bombers at hockey@daytonbombers.com.
The Bombers' next home game is Friday, December 20, 2002 versus Atlantic City (7:30 p.m.).
