Reading Royals News Release
READING, PA â Reading Royals fans can own their favorite player's jersey Saturday, Dec. 7, after the Royals face off against the Richmond Renegades at 7:05 p.m. in the Sovereign Center.
The team will wear special red-white-and-blue jerseys that will be auctioned off through a silent bidding process during the game. The jersey auction is sponsored by Leesport Bank.
Bidding will begin when the doors open and will end exactly 15 minutes following the end of the game. Bid sheets will be located at the Fan Attic merchandise stand behind sections 112 and 113.
The minimum bid for each jersey is $100. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Royals and Sovereign Center staff will be on hand for assistance. Each Royals player will deliver his freshly worn jersey to the winner at the Fan Attic after the conclusion of the auction. Players will also autograph it and have a picture taken with each winner.
Jersey auction proceeds go to Royals Charities, which is committed to providing assistance to charitable organizations throughout Reading and the surrounding area that serve seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged youth and their families. The 2002-03 Royals Charities beneficiaries are Berks Women in Crisis and the Children's Home of Reading.
