Taylor Returns to Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Danny Taylor has been reassigned to Gwinnett by the team's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. Taylor returns to Gwinnett after one game in Syracuse, recording a 3-2 win for the Crunch on Friday night. In 29 games with the Gladiators this season, the 23-year-old has turned in a record of 14-11-3 with a 3.43 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. He has one shutout this season, a 3-0 decision at Wheeling on December 11.

A native of Plymouth, England, Taylor was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the seventh round with the 221st overall pick of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After three junior seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, he made his pro debut with the Bakersfield Condors in 2006. Since then, the fourth-year pro has had stints with Wheeling, Texas, and Reading of the ECHL as well as parts of two seasons with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. He appeared in one NHL game with the Los Angeles Kings in March of 2008.

Taylor has played 4 games with the Crunch this year, collecting a 1-1-0 record with a 3.66 GAA and an 87% save percentage. Taylor has played 164 minutes in net for Syracuse this year.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, February 26th @ Kalamazoo at 7:30 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
