THE MATCHUP:
The Condors and Salmon Kings meet for the ninth time this season and second night in a row, with two games remaining in the season series after tonight. Bakersfield received a strong 41-save performance out of G J.P. Levasseur on Friday night, while RW Ryan Menei scored twice and added an assist. The Condors improved to 4-3-1 in the season series, and 23-17-7 all-time against Victoria. Four straight meetings, and five of the last six, have been decided by just one goal. The first five games of the season series took place in Victoria, and the final six are at Rabobank Arena. They will also face off in March, with a two-game set March 19 and 20.
CONDORS NOTES:
The Condors have tallied the first goal in three of their last four games, and four of their last six, after suffering through a stretch of 10 straight games in which they fell behind 1-0. When scoring first, the Condors are 19-2-1... The line of Stephane Goulet-Andrew Ianiero-Ryan Menei accounted for all three Condors goals Friday, and seven of the nine points... The 43 shots allowed by the Condors on Friday were a season high... Ianiero had two assists to reach 300 points in his Condors career. He needs just three goals for 100 in his pro career... Tonight is F Mathieu Aubin's 200th career game, while F Stephane Goulet is two games shy of the same milestone... D Luis Tremblay returns to the Condors lineup tonight for the first time since the 2004-05 season. As a rookie that year, the Val d'Or, Quebec, native had 2g-22a in 68 games... Equipment Manager John Doolan will work his 2,700 game next Friday in Idaho.
