Talley's Late Homer Lifts Bisons over WooSox

BUFFALO, N.Y. - After holding a lead through seven and a half innings, the Worcester Red Sox (50-48) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (52-46) by a 5-3 final on Saturday night at Sahlen Field.

With two on and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, L.J. Talley hit a three-run home run over the left-field fence to put Buffalo on top 5-3.

The Bisons scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first when Otto Lopez crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

They added another run in the second on a groundout from Logan Warmoth.

Worcester scored three runs to take the lead in the fourth inning. Cam Cannon brought in the first run when he reached on a fielder's choice. Ronaldo Hernandez put the WooSox ahead on a two-run single to left field.

In his first start off the injured list, Connor Seabold tossed four innings, allowing two runs on four hits without walking a batter. Seabold threw 52 pitches.

Bowden Francis started a bullpen game for the second time in the series. Francis was one of eight pitchers used by Buffalo.

Jose Peraza went 2-for-3 in his WooSox debut. He singled and doubled and was also hit by a pitch.

Worcester is now 9-8 against Buffalo this season. 11 of the 17 games have been decided by two runs or less.
