T-Birds Trade for Defenseman Mitch Spooner

Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team acquired defenseman Mitch Spooner from Regina Pats for a conditional fifth round selection in the 2012 Bantam Draft.

Spooner, from Vancouver, is an 18-year-old defenseman who has played 15 games with the Pats this season. Spooner has five points on one goal and four assists with four penalty minutes.

Spooner was a first round selection, 19th overall, in the 2007 Bantam Draft by the Vancouver Giants.

The T-Birds travel to Kennewick on Tuesday to face the Tri-City Americans at 7:05pm at Toyota Center.

The T-Birds host the Everett Silvertips on Friday, January 14, at ShoWare Center at 7:35pm in a game that will be televised on FSN.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2010-11 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
