Syracuse Crunch Ryan Martindale Reassigned to Crunch, Corrente to San Antonio

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Forward Ryan Martindale has been reassigned to the Syracuse Crunch by the Florida Panthers and defenseman Matt Corrente has been reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage by the Tampa Bay Lightning. The announcements were made today by Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois.

Martindale, 23, has appeared in 45 games for the Rampage this season, recording eight goals and 13 points with six penalty minutes. The third-year pro has appeared in 161 American Hockey League games with the Rampage and Oklahoma City Barons, totaling 22 goals and 53 points. He made his AHL debut Dec. 10, 2011, with Oklahoma City. He's also played 39 games in the ECHL with the Stockton Thunder.

Martindale, a 6-foot-3, 207-lb. left-handed shot from Oshawa, Ontario, was a third-round selection, 61st overall, by Edmonton at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded by Edmonton to Florida Jan. 17, 2014. In 2010-11, his last of four seasons with the OHL's Ottawa 67's, he posted 83 points and a plus-38.

Corrente, 26, is plus-7 with eight points and 101 penalty minutes in 48 games for the Crunch this season, his first with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization. Last year he played 72 games with the Charlotte Checkers, the Carolina Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, collecting 11 points and 136 penalty minutes. The first five of his seven professional seasons came with the New Jersey Devils organization, combining for 49 points in 163 AHL games between Lowell and Albany, plus 34 NHL contests with six assists.

Corrente, a 6-foot, 200-lb. right-handed shot from Mississauga, Ontario, was New Jersey's first-round pick, 30th overall, at the 2006 NHL Draft. Before turning pro, he played 187 games in the OHL with Saginaw, Mississauga and Niagara.
