Norfolk Admirals News Release

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that defenseman Mat Clark and forward William Karlsson were each involved in separate trades prior to the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.

Clark, 24, becomes a part of the Colorado Avalanche organization while forward Michael Sgarbossa is now a Duck. Anaheim and Colorado executed this player-for-player transaction earlier this afternoon ahead of the trade deadline. Clark has a goal and five assists for the Admirals in 2014-15 and an assist in seven games played this season for Anaheim. Across three seasons in Norfolk, the 2009 second-round pick skated in 139 regular-season games, scored two goals and 18 points.

Karlsson, 22, is now a Columbus Blue Jacket via a trade that sent him and forward Rene Bourque to Columbus with a 2015 second-round pick in exchange for defenseman James Wisniewski and a 2015 third-round pick. This season, the 22-year-old Swede registered eight goals and 16 assists in 37 games for Norfolk. In 46 career regular-season games as an Admiral, Karlsson scored 10 goals and 23 assists. He had a goal and two helpers in last season's Calder Cup Playoffs with Norfolk. The 2011 second-round pick started the season with the Ducks, participating in 18 games (2g, 1a) before a reassignment to Norfolk.
