Coyotes Claim McGinn and Cunningham off Waivers

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have claimed forwards Tye McGinn and Craig Cunningham off waivers.

The 24-year-old McGinn has registered 1-4-5 and 11 penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 games with the San Jose Sharks this season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Fergus, Ontario has totaled 8-7-15 with 34 PIM in 69 career NHL games. McGinn was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round (119th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.

The 24-year-old Cunningham has recorded 2-1-3 and two PIM in 32 games with the Boston Bruins this season. The 5-foot-10, 184-pound native of Trail, British Columbia has also collected 5-10-15 and eight PIM in 21 games with Providence (AHL) in 2014-15. Cunningham was originally drafted by the Bruins in the fourth round (97th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
