Sweet-Swinging Fisher Cats Return Home for Weekend
May 16, 2018 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, N.H. - You've seen the highlights, tweets and news reports: the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hype is real. Whether he's hitting home runs the opposite way of the tee, crushing dingers off the Hilton hotel or fooling all of Twitter with pictures of his "call up," the 19-year-old son of the soon-to-be Hall of Famer is a bonafide superstar. He returns to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium this weekend with the league's second-best batting average (an eye-popping .415; the league leader has 19 less hits than Guerrero Jr.) and is tops in the circuit with 40 RBIs, 56 hits, 23 extra base hits and 15 doubles.
Not to be outdone, Cavan Biggio begins this homestand with a league-best 12 home runs and .732 slugging percentage. He finished the most recent road trip 9-20 (.450) with five long balls and 13 RBIs. He's now tied for second in the league with 33 runs batted in.
Bo Bichette broke out in the most recent series against Hartford for five hits in three games, including his first Double-A home run to tie the game on Tuesday as the 'Cats went on to win 7-6 in eleven innings.
Vlad, Cavan, Bo and co. are back at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium this weekend for a five-game, four-day series against Tim Tebow and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets), fresh off a three-game sweep of the Yard Goats and a 5-2 road trip.
Tickets are available now at nhfishercats.com, 603-641-2005 or the Fisher Cats box office, located at One Line Drive in Manchester.
