Game No. 21 | Saturday April 28, 2018 | 7:05 p.m. | Coca-Cola Park | Allentown, PA

Radio: NEPA Sports Radio The Game & swbrailriders.com | Airtime: 6:05 p.m.

PITCHING MATCH-UP: RHP Chance Adams (0-1, 4.82) vs. RHP Enyel De Los Santos (1-0, 1.98)

LAST TIME OUT: The offense fell behind early and any rallying momentum never materialized for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs took Friday night's contest 6-1. Before 7,987 fans at Coca-Cola Park the IronPigs offense wore down starting pitcher Nestor Cortes in the 2nd inning. A walk, single and walk loaded the bases with no outs before Cortes struck out Joey Meneses and Nick Rickles consecutively. He lost the next batter on a 3-1 pitch to bring in a run and give the 'Pigs a 1-0 lead.

Cortes, making his first start of the season, was still one pitch away from getting out of the jam but leadoff hitter Roman Quinn had other ideas. The switch-hitting Quinn was batting on the right side against the southpaw Cortes and went the other way with a high-and-away fastball and dropped it just over the right field wall for a grand slam. His first homer of the season made it a substantial 5-0 lead that the Lehigh Valley pitching staff wouldn't relinquish.

For the second straight game the RailRiders had Brandon Drury rehabbing at third base. Wednesday night Drury played seven innings, but he played all nine inning Friday night. He finished 2-for-3 with a HBP and is now 4-for-7 (.571 AVG) with three runs scored and an RBI in his two games in Triple-A. He scored the lone run of the night for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with one out in the 8th inning when Mike Ford shot a groundball up the middle past the dive of the second baseman Dean Anna. Shane Robinson went to third base on the play and is now batting .333 following his 3-for-4 performance. In his last six games played, Robinson is 10-for-27 (.370 AVG) which has raised his season average 125 points from .208.

FAMILIAR FACE: The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders headed to Allentown Friday for their second roadtrip of the season and are now 2-2 against them this year after a 6-1 loss. The team went 3-4 on the first trip of the year at Charlotte and Gwinnett, but started out by taking 3-of-4 from Charlotte before being swept by the Stripers.

ANOTHER ROUND: The RailRiders put RHP Chance Adams on the mound tonight against the IronPigs. In three career appearances against Lehigh Valley, including a start on April 11, Adams has an 0-1 record with a 2.70 earned run average. The right-hander has struck out 18 batters, six in each appearance, spanning 16.2 innings. He received a no-decision on April 11 after pitching five innings of shutout ball.

I SAID NO, NO, NO: INF Brandon Drury is batting .571 during his rehab stint with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The infielder has four hits over seven at bats with three runs scored and a run batted in. Drury was placed on the New York Yankees disabled list on April 7 while dealing with severe migraines.

HEALING QUICKLY: RHP Anyelo Gómez was activated from the Disabled List on Friday. The right-hander left his appearance at Gwinnett on April 17 after facing three batters and was placed on the disabled list the next day. Gomez worked one scoreless inning last night, striking out two and walking one is his return to action.

TAKING OFF: In addition to the offensive muscle growing during the recent six-game homestand against Toledo and Columbus, the speed started to show itself at the end of the homestand as well. Over the final two games against Columbus the RailRiders were 5-for-5 SB (OF Shane Robinson, 3 // INF Tyler Wade, 2). In the first 17 games of the season the RailRiders had stolen just nine bases total before running wild against catchers Francisco Mejia and Eric Haase. The RailRiders have a pair of players who have 5 SB this season (Robinson, INF Abiatal Avelino) which puts them T-3rd in the IL behind Roman Quinn of Lehigh Valley with 7 SB.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: SS Didi Gregorious is now tied for the MLB HR lead with LAA OF Mike Trout after clubbing his 10th of the season in extra innings Friday night as part of a 4-3 Yankees win. The Trenton Thunder were blanked 4-0 by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats top-prospect arm, RHP Sean Reid-Foley (4-0, 1.16). The Tampa Tarpons fell to the Charlotte Stone Crabs 10-4 as rehabbing OF Clint Frazier went 0-4 with a walk in his second rehab game (concussion). For the Charleston Riverdogs, they couldn't hold a 4-2 lead entering the bottom of the 9th inning as the Greenville Drive (4-18) snapped a 13-game losing streak with a walkoff one-out single.
