HAGERSTOWN, MD. - A three-run home run by Brian Goodwin in the 2nd inning set the tone in Hagerstown's 5-1 victory over the BlueClaws Friday night.

With two outs in the inning, Goodwin stepped to the plate and launched his fourth homer of the season that just landed over the outstretched glove of Kelly Dugan in right field for a 4-0 Suns' lead.

Chris Duffy notched a single in the 4th inning, and he has tied Maikel Franco's eight-game hitting streak from May 10-17 for the longest BlueClaws hitting streak in 2012. Over his current streak, Duffy is 11-for-22 (.500). Duffy has hit safely in 23-of-25 games with Lakewood this season and has reached base safely in all 25 games with the BlueClaws.

BlueClaws starting pitcher Ramon Oviedo loses his fifth straight start, and his record drops to 1-5 this season. In his five losses, Oviedo has allowed 26 earned runs in 20.2 innings (11.32 ERA). These five recent starts all follow a BlueClaws debut for Oviedo in which he allowed a single run in six innings on May 22, but has pitched poorly since.

The BlueClaws and Suns will continue their four-game series Saturday at Municipal Stadium. Colin Kleven (4-5, 3.80) will battle lefty Bobby Hansen Jr. (0-0, 2.57) in Game 3. Kleven is coming off a victory in Tuesday's South Atlantic League All-Star Game in which he tossed scoreless 4th inning in the North Division's 3-2 victory.

First pitch for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
