NORFOLK, V.A. - David Warsofsky scored on the power play and Colin Stuart scored the eventual game-winner as the Providence Bruins beat the Norfolk Admirals 2-1 at the Scope on Friday night. Malcolm Subban had his shutout bid spoiled with 1:17 to go, but finished the evening 36-for-37.

Warsofsky got the game's scoring started while on the 5-on-3. With Louis Leblanc and Stefan Noesen in the penalty box in the first, Providence weaved the puck through the offensive zone. Warsofsky beat Admirals goaltender Ryan Faragher with a low shot from the right wing circle that snapped the defensman's stick but snuck past Faragher's right leg at 8:19.

Warsofsky committed a penalty later in the period, and Zach Trotman joined him in the box as the home team got a 5-on-3 opportunity of its own. Norfolk had four shots during the stretch, but was unable to tie the game. The best chances came within the last 0:30 of the power play with a couple of slap shots from the slot.

In the second period, Mat Clark drove Ben Sexton into the boards hard behind the Admirals' net. Tyler Randell took exception to the boarding penalty, and instigated a fight with the Norfolk defenseman at 5:48.

Later in the frame, Alexander Khokhlachev had a rebound bid courtesy of a Steve Eminger shot, but Faragher made a diving stop to temporarily keep it a one-goal contenst. At 15:58, Stuart doubled the Providence advantage. He carried the puck into the zone, worked around Colby Robak, zipped through the slot and faked out Faragher in front.

The Admirals scored with only 77 seconds left in the third period. Matt Bailey cut the deficit in half on a shot that was tipped twice in the slot.

The victory gives Providence five points out of a possible eight on the road trip. The Bruins wrap up the five-game trip-- and their month-- with another game against the Admirals at 7:15pm on Saturday.
