MANCHESTER, NH - Andrew Crescenzi scored the game winning goal to lift the Monarchs to a 4-2 win over Hartford. The Monarchs scored three goals in the third period for the come-from-behind victory.

"It was a good 60 minute effort and we needed that this week," defenseman Kevin Gravel said of the win. "Especially the first game of the weekend coming off the weekend we had last week...The guys were ready to go tonight."

The Monarchs (33-13-5-2) improved to 2-0-0-0 against the Wolf Pack (30-18-4-3) on the season.

Mike Richards opened the scoring with his third goal of the season after recovering a rebound off of a Zach O'Brien shot at the 1:18 mark of the period.

Wolf Pack defenseman Steve Spinell received a pass from Chris Bourque and sent a shot from the blue line that tied the game at 18:07 of the opening period. The goal was Spinell's first of the season.

Hartford scored again at 1:25 of the second period with a Tyler Brown goal, his fifth of the season.

The Monarchs tied the game at 4:41 of the third with a Brian O'Neill slap shot, for his team-leading 17th goal of the season.

After batting the puck out of the air, Crescenzi scored what would be the eventual game-winning goal at 17:41 of the third period. The goal was Crescenzi's fourth of the season.

Zach O'Brien would tack on the fourth goal at 18:16 of the period to close out the game.

The Monarchs return to the ice on Saturday night with a 7 p.m. against Portland at the Cross Insurance Arena. Their next home game will be a 3 p.m. matchup with Worcester on Sunday.

Notes:

Zach O'Brien's assist on Mike Richards' goal was the 50th point of his AHL career. The Monarchs are undefeated (3-0-0-0) when Mike Richards scores a goal. Brian O'Neill has points in nine of his last 10 games (6 goals, 6 assists). The Monarchs scored at least four goals 22 times this season, winning 21 of them (21-0-0-1).
