Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONT. - The Hamilton Bulldogs (27-21-7-0) unloaded for four goals in the first period and carried that momentum to a 4-0 win over the Charlotte Checkers (20-29-5-1) at FirstOntario Centre on Friday evening.

Hamilton forward Eric Tangradi got the scoring started 5:45 into the first period when he finished off a cross-ice pass from forward Sven Andrighetto for his fourth goal of the season. Forward T.J. Hensick had a second assist.

Seven minutes later, Tangradi took a behind-the-back pass from forward Gabriel Dumont and proceeded to dangle his way past Charlotte goaltender Drew MacIntyre to give the 'Dogs a 2-0 lead with his fifth goal of 2014-15.

Just 1:12 after that, Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr scored on a breakaway for his 17th goal of the year, unassisted, to put his team ahead 3-0.

Carr also completed the first-period scoring with a tip of an Andrighetto wrist shot for his team-leading 18th goal of the season at 18:39 to give the 'Dogs a 4-0 lead heading into the middle stanza. Forward Charles Hudon collected a second assist.

After a scoreless second period in which the Bulldogs outshot the Checkers 14-4, 'Dogs goaltender Mike Condon denied any comeback attempt by the Checkers in the third period, turning aside 12 shots to preserve the goose egg.

In total, Condon made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season for the Bulldogs in the win, while MacIntyre stopped 28 of 32 shots faced for the Checkers in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Charlotte was 0-for-3 with a man advantage.
