Stumpo Advances in Moniker Madness

Williamsport Crosscutters catcher Bob Stumpo is a candidate for the best name in all of Minor League Baseball in the 5th Annual MiLB.com Moniker Madness bracket-style tournament.

A total of 64 players started the tournament with Stumpo stomping Auburn's Angelberth Montilla in Round 1.

Round 2 finds Stumpo, the #5 seed in his bracket, going against Mets prospect Tobi Stoner. Fans can vote through August 11 at www.minorleaguebaseball.com/madness or just click on the link at crosscutters.com.

"This is the first time the Williamsport Crosscutters have had a current player in the contest," said Gabe Sinicropi, the team's VP of Marketing and Public Relations. "We're going to do our best to spread the word far and wide to help Stump get over the hump."

The Moniker Madness tournament finals are August 23-25.
