Tri-City got the lead back to thre in the top of the fifth inning on a Matt Duffy RBI single, then added two runs in the eighth on a Neiko Johnson two-run single for a 6-1 lead. Rafael Valenzuela smacked a two-run homer in the top of the ninth and the ValleyCats added another unearned run on a Chad Lewis throwing error.

Lewis would hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth for his second home run of the year and the Lake Monsters first home run at Centennial in the last nine games.
