Norwich Sea Unicorns News Release

NORWICH, CT - Luis Sanz tossed seven one-hit innings to lead the Connecticut Tigers to a 10-0 victory over the Lowell Spinners on Monday night at Dodd Stadium.

After giving up a leadoff single to Matty Johnson to start the game, Luis Sanz and Scott Green held the Spinners hitless through the rest of the game. Sanz allowed only three base runners all night, as he walked two to go along with the one hit he surrendered.

The Tigers broke the scoreless tie with a four-run third inning. Eugenio Suarez and Chad Wright drew back-to-back walks and Tyler Collins followed with a three-run homer to right field, his fifth homer in just his 17th game with Connecticut. Jason King added an RBI single in the innings as well.

Connecticut added two runs in the fourth inning, one in the sixth and three more in the seventh to extend the lead to 10-0.

Collins finished the night with four RBI, while Dean Green went 2-for-5 to improve his batting average to .357 on the year, which is second best in the New York-Penn League.

Sanz earned his team-leading fifth win of the season, as Madison Younginer suffered his third loss for Lowell.
