New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, N.H. - Despite a quality start from Hector Perez (6 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 6 K), the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) took a 4-0 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) on Tuesday night at Delta Dental Stadium. It was New Hampshire's third shutout loss of the season, and snapped a streak of seven straight games with at least one home run.

Portland took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single from Jerry Downs in the second inning, and never let the Fisher Cats off the mat.

Sea Dogs starter Konner Wade (W, 2-3) tossed seven three-hit shutout innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Chad Spanberger hit a single in the second, Josh Palacios ripped a double in the sixth, and Logan Warmoth added a single in the seventh. Brock Lundquist singled in the eighth off reliever Eduard Bazardo for New Hampshire's fourth and final hit.

The Sea Dogs took a 2-0 advantage on a sixth inning sac fly from Marcus Wilson, and doubled the lead with a two-run double by Joey Curletta in the top of the eighth.

Danny Young pitched a scoreless ninth for the Fisher Cats, but New Hampshire was set down in order in the home half to end the ballgame.

The two teams will play for the series win on Wednesday afternoon at 12:05 p.m., with Yennsy Diaz on the hill for the Fisher Cats.
