Wade Fires Seven Scoreless in a 4-0 Win over New Hampshire

Manchester, NH - Konner Wade (2-3) fired seven scoreless frames in a spot-start as the Portland Sea Dogs (11-15) beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (10-16), 4-0 on Tuesday night at Delta Dental Stadium. The series will come down to a rubber-game on Wednesday afternoon.

Wade retired 21 of 24 batters, allowing just three hits and establishing a season-high with six strikeouts. The righty retired 11 batters in a row during the middle innings.

Jerry Downs gave Portland a 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI single in the third. In the sixth, Bobby Dalbec walked and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Marcus Wilson. Joey Curletta put the game away in the eighth inning, smacking a two-run double. Curletta (2-for-3, BB) is hitting .394 in his last 10 games.

Righty Eduard Bazardo closed the game out with two scoreless frames. Portland's starters have posted a 2.39 ERA in their last 21 games.

SS C.J. Chatham went 2-for-4, picking up his team-leading 23rd multi-hit game. Dalbec drew two walks for the 16th time this season.

The Sea Dogs and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) wrap-up a three-game set on Wednesday afternoon with a 12:05 start from Delta Dental Stadium. RHP Robinson Leyer (0-0, 0.00) makes his first start of the season for Portland. RHP Yennsy Diaz (8-6, 3.59) is on the hill for New Hampshire.
