April 12, 2022 - International League (IL)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
PAPILLION, Neb. -- Tuesday's game between the Omaha Storm Chasers and the Louisville Bats has been suspended due to rain in the top of the sixth inning with the game tied, 1-1. It will resume at 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13. Following the completion of Tuesday's game, Omaha and Louisville will play their regularly-scheduled nine-inning game.
Gates for Tuesday's resumption will open at 3:30 p.m.
Omaha (2-4) took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when catcher MJ Melendez hit a solo home run to left field, marking his second straight game with a home run.
Left-hander Austin Cox kept Louisville (1-5) at bay through the first four innings before allowing his lone run in the fifth, when Chris Okey hit a wind-aided double, moved to third on a groundout, and scored on a single by Cristian Santana. Cox threw 5.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Louisville scored two runs in the top of the sixth before the game was suspended, but by rule, the game will resume at the beginning of the top of the sixth following the last fully-completed inning.
First pitch for the resumption of Tuesday's game is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. and coverage begins at 3:45 p.m. with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone.
