Stoneburner Promoted to Tampa, Heredia Transferred to Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Graham Stoneburner has been promoted to the High-A Tampa Yankees. Right-hander Jairo Heredia has been transferred to the RiverDogs.

Stoneburner, a Virginia native, has posted a 1-3 record with a 2.08 ERA thus far this season. The former Clemson University standout struck out a career-high 11 batters, including seven in a row between the second and fourth innings, on May 5 vs. Lakewood. For his efforts on the mound, the right-hander earned South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of April 19-26.

Heredia, a native of the Dominican Republic, has posted a 0-6 record with a 6.93 ERA through six starts this season with the Tampa Yankees. The 20-year-old righty returns to Charleston after seeing time with the club the previous two years, going 6-7 with a 3.25 ERA in 2008 and 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA in 2009. While with the RiverDogs, Heredia was named SAL Pitcher of the Week on July 7, 2008.
