Utah Grizzlies News Release

Stockton, California - The Stockton Thunder scored two third period goals to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Friday night at Stockton Arena after Utah held a 2-1 lead going to the third.

Utah took 1-0 and 2-1 leads by scoring early in each the first and second periods.

Vinny Scarsella tipped in a Channing Boe shot 1:15 into the first period to give Utah a 1-0 lead.

Tied at 1 going to the second period, Kris Hogg forced a turnover and led David Vallorani who walked in from the left circle, through center and then backhanded the puck top shelf past Stockton goaltender Brian Foster to make it 2-1. The goal came at 2:04.

Stockton scored a power-play goal early in the third and forced a puck up ice on a breakaway with just over five minutes left to seal the 3-2 win.

Utah called timeout with 1:14 left and went six-on-five with an extra-attacker. A last ditch effort whistled wide to end the game.

Igor Bobkov stopped 29 of 32 shots in the losing effort.

The Grizzlies return to action Saturday in San Francisco. Face-off is at 8:30 p.m.
